This Privacy Policy explains what information Shortun (shortun.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. Shortun is operated by Ram Chauhan ("we", "us").
Account information. When you register we store your username, email address and a securely hashed password. In your profile you may save payout details (such as a PayPal email or wallet address) so we can pay you.
Link and visit data. When a short link is created we store the destination URL and its settings. When a link is visited we record technical data needed to count the visit, prevent fraud and produce statistics: IP address, browser/user-agent, referring page, country (derived from the IP address) and device type. This is what powers the "counted vs. filtered" statistics in your dashboard.
Usage data. We keep server logs and basic records of actions in the member area (for example, payout requests) for security and support.
Shortun uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure whether a link visit is unique within a short window, and operate the countdown/interstitial flow. You can block cookies in your browser; parts of the service (including visit counting and sign-in) may not work correctly without them. Advertising shown on interstitial pages may be served by third-party ad networks that set their own cookies under their own policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with processors needed to run the service (hosting, email delivery and payment providers such as PayPal or your chosen payout method, which receives the details required to pay you), with ad networks that serve the interstitial advertising, and when required by law. Payment proof pages mask usernames before anything is displayed publicly.
Account data is kept while your account is active. Visit statistics are retained in aggregate for reporting. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data; some records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, accounting or legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Passwords are stored hashed, the site is served over HTTPS, and access to systems is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information proportionately to its sensitivity.
Shortun's publisher accounts are for users aged 18 or over (or the age of majority where they live). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
